Faith is the Moving Cause of All Action

I am grateful to have this day to talk with you about raising you vision. I hope that this week you have evaluated what is important to you and what you are willing to sacrifice for. What your REAL DESIRE is. Remember as it says in the scriptures, “where there is no vision the people perish”. Establish your vision through your REAL DESIRES.

Like I mentioned last week, I have discovered that to have REAL DESIRE it requires us to practice 3 eternal principles. One links to the other and without each of the 3 you cannot say that your DESIRE is REAL. Today I will talk about the first of those principles or keys to REAL DESIRE and success in life.

The first is FAITH. In speaking of FAITH it is important to understand, as a wise man once said, that FAITH is the moving cause of all actions. We often think of FAITH in relation to our spiritual concerns but it also applies to our temporal concerns.

Knowing this we should evaluate our faith because if we are not realizing our desires it very well may be that we are not exercising our FAITH with all of our hearts.

I believe that FAITH begins with our thoughts and beliefs. And so to realize our DESIRES we need to radically change how we think.

Every self-help guru I read says the same thing: Change your thoughts to change your life. It was Buddha who observed, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.”

Let’s start with your world. Remember where there is doubt or uncertainty FAITH will be weak. If your mind is full of doubt and fear your confidence will diminish and your FAITH will be weak. So remove anything that may be causing the doubt and fear. In some cases it may be people or places and other times it may be an awareness of yourself and the ability to replace a negative thought with a positive one. Be aware and choose to change and adjust. YOU have the power within YOU! Establish your DEISRE or DESIRES and establish a plan to act according to those DESIRES.

Don’t be discouraged by obstacles that you had not planned on. Challenges test you to see if your DESIRES are REAL or only a hope or dream. Expect challenges and own them before they own you.

Webster says that a thought is an idea, plan, opinion or picture formed in your mind. It stems from the act of thinking. So FAITH begins with “the ACT of thinking”. One challenge to you this week is to act and think as though it were impossible to fail. Remove doubt and fear and create your circumstances or know that you will be created by them.

Over the next two weeks you will receive the other two keys to achieving REAL DESIRE. Remember one key without the other does not work. All three are required.

Another challenge to you this week is to show your FAITH, and that FAITH begins with your thoughts. At the end of the day while lying in bed I want you to use 10 minutes visualizing the perfect day. See yourself acting and thinking as though it were impossible to fail. Use the power of visualization to end your day and then let your mind work for you as you sleep.

I love what Charles Swindoll said about attitude or thoughts. He said :

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude(thoughts) on life. Attitude(thoughts), to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude(thoughts)we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude(thoughts). I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes(thoughts)."

FAITH is the moving cause of ALL action!
