Keep Rising

Dr. King was an inspiration to many, in fact he was a glaring symbol for hope to a group of people whom at the time had very little. Dr.King was a cornerstone of the civil rights movement and in American history. To today’s youth those times and those struggles will seem like worlds ago, but as adults we know it wasn’t too far in our countries rear view mirror. We had harsh reminders of that through the course of this year. Ironically enough his words resonate very strongly with any of us today. Whether you are facing oppression, set back, loss, discouragement or just slowed progress you can relate to this quote.

What this quote says to me is to “find a way”. When there seems like there is no option, “find a way”. When you feel like you have no strength, “find a way”. When you have no energy, “find a way”. When there is no one to help and you are alone, “find a way”. When you have nothing but doubt, “find a way”. And the most powerful realization is that we aren’t meant to find a way to succeed, we aren’t meant to find a way to dominate or even to win. Our job is to FIND A WAY TO KEEP GOING!

Just as the Fenix had to rise from the ashes, our flights will not be without turbulence, without crash landings and without burning flames. Those setbacks and obstacles are inevitable. And just how many? We are unsure. But our job, no matter what, is to keep rising.
