Live in the State of Change

“I am who I am.” Wrong, you can be anyone and any way that you want. That first statement is far too common and far too settled for. It is known as a “fixed” mindset when you perceive your life this way. The truth is that you are in control at all time and can change the life you are leading, who you are, what you do, who you surround yourself with and everything else anytime you wish.

My challenge to you today is seek a “state of change”. Be willing to constantly be evolving or adapting to something new. Truly, if you are successful right now, how can you be more successful? If you are happy right now, how can you be more happy? If you are sad right now, how can you change your life or outlook to be happy or grateful? If you are feeling anxious right now how can you change your life to be more calm and relaxed? There are clear answers solutions to these problems, but are you asking yourself these questions? Are you actually willing to change everything or even some things in order to get what you want? The truth for most people is that the answer to that question is “no”. We are far to “stuck” in the person or the situation we currently find ourselves in to even realize we can be different.

Take inventory today. Who do you want to be? Where do you want to go? How will you get there? What needs to change? Make a list of those things. It can range from physical actions to more list making, to searching for a new job, to starting a side hustle, to asking for help…..we will all start in different places. But if you want to truly be happy the actions need to start somewhere. Recognizing that you are not “who you are”, and recognizing that your childhood or parents do not dictate who you can be is the best lesson to start with. You can be anything you want, you can do anything you want, and shame on us for at some point not continuing to remind eachother and ourselves of this truth.

You have to be willing to stop what you are doing, stop being who you currently are in order to change and be who you want to be. Live in a state of change.
