There was a study that came out on the runners of the 2002 Boston marathon and their levels of hydration and its findings were rather surprising. It found that a significant amount of these runners over consumed fluids. The overconsumption of fluids can cause hyponatremia, or low sodium concentrations in the blood. In this study, it found that most of the people who over-consumed fluids were drinking straight water. They didn’t have any electrolytes or carbs mixed into the fluids, thinking that water was the best solution. When, in fact, it’s not. A water based fluid consisting of simple carbs, sodium, and potassium would be.

Reburst contains 18G of carbohydrates in the form of dextrose. Dextrose is a simple sugar (specifically a monosaccharide) and is identical in chemical structure to glucose. Glucose is the most fundamental sugar, made up of one monomer (sugar unit) and serving as an energy source for many life forms. When you consume carbohydrates, your body breaks them down into separate glucose molecules so that they can be transported to cells for energy (ATP) production. Dextrose, being in the simplest form of glucose already, absorbs extremely quickly into your body.

The dextrose in Reburst is great for both endurance athletes as well as strength athletes. In extremely long events like marathons, triathlons, and Ironmans, that mid-race crash you feel is caused by your muscles running out of available glycogen to use.  Long endurance athletes can benefit from drinking Reburst during their training because it’s a steady supply of glycogen to the muscles.

In strength sports like bodybuilding or just building muscle in general whether that be Crossfit, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, etc. A decrease in muscle glycogen leads to a decrease in power output. By consuming Reburst you’re providing your body with continuous fuel to keep its power output high.

The addition of 250mg of sodium is also critically important. As we sweat and consume water, the sodium levels in our blood drop. Sodium is an electrolyte performing a critical role in the body; maintenance of fluid balance, nerve transmission, muscular contraction, and helps prevent muscle cramps.

We’ve also added 150mg of another electrolyte called potassium.  Athletes should be especially concerned with their potassium intake; potassium is involved in the storage of carbohydrates to fuel your muscles. Specifically, potassium works to regulate the muscles and nerves. The frequency and degree to which your muscles contract is heavily dependent on the right amount of potassium in the body.

The last key component to our Reburst product is 7G of EAAs. Muscle is made of protein, and protein is made of amino acids. As the proteins in your muscles breakdown, the goal is to produce new proteins to take their place. Reburst was designed to provide your body with the 8 amino acids that the body can not create on its own... but are required in the building of new muscle.

Reburst is an extremely beneficial product for all athletes because of the ingredients and quality of the ingredients it contains. Adding Reburst to your training will allow you to push harder and go longer in your training and rise to the next level!
