Tips on Habit Building

And today, Rise 45 officially begins. We’re starting off 2021 with a bang and the momentum is going to be palpable. It tastes like Grape Limeade. And that’s my favorite. We’re on Day One of our 45-day habit building commitment. No fasts. No struggles. Just day to day, side by side, grinding for improvement.

As someone who has already completed the Rise45 over the holiday season, I’m excited to jump back into the pool and start swimming with my people.

Before we dive too deep though, now is a great time to answer three of the most common questions people have asked about the Rise 45.

“But wait, what if I don’t know what habits to build?”

Start simple. Our goal can’t be to reinvent a wheel. The goal is to do something basic and maintainable. Smart, even. (S)pecific. (M)easurable. (A)chievable. (R)ealistic. (T)imely.

Don’t try to pick up a habit of climbing Mount Everest. That’s a lofty goal, but not a habit. Instead, aim to build a habit of going to bed at 9:30pm and waking up at 6:00am everyday. Ahem, that’s two results of one habit. Push to hit that 45 out of the next 45 days. But admit to yourself that 41/45 can still grade out to an A.

I was always a B+ student, myself. Habit building is short term persistency for long term consistency.

“What diet goes best with Rise 45?”

A lot. We don’t want to limit you into a one-size-fits-all approach. We have an amazing nutritionist (What’s up, Gina!) available to walk you through options and give healthy direction. But we’re not going to demand a particular diet. Part of the program is supplementation, so we advise you drink your Rebalance Greens, Immune+ Complex, and Renew Krill Oil.

“What results can I expect in 45 days?”

I lost 10 lbs in the first 15 days. But I’m a loser.

I mean... I’m fast at losing weight.

After that, my weight maintained while the shape of my body responded amazingly. I didn’t commit to a typical diet. I cut alcohol out for 45 days. Inflammation went down, muffin top tightened, and my sleep became more productive. I grew a butt again! For me, habit building was about building the habit of saying “no” to a drink at the end of the night, and “yes” to reading more of my Bible in the morning.

Daily mindfulness gets you one point in the Rise 45, find a book, meditation incantation, or podcast to grow in your self-awareness and mental makeup.

I felt better Day 45 than I did Day 1.

“Can I do the workouts in a home gym?”

Yes. You can do them at home or while traveling through Rome. You can do them at a globogym and with your bestfriend Tim. Adrian’s programming gels with dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells. No equipment or workout mate? Don’t sweat, just do the bodyweight.

Seriously, though. Everything is scalable. Your grandma can do this.

BONUS QUESTION

“What If I haven’t signed up yet, but want to do it now?”

Habit building doesn’t have to start on a special day. If you missed the boat, that doesn’t mean you can’t get in the water. We have a grace period for late sign ups, and will remain readily available even after the initial competition ends. We’re here to help you on your journey. The online community is awesome, the benefits are undeniable, and the future is bright. Let’s go!
